The Magic of Live and Lens

A lifelong love of storytelling has guided me to stage and screen.

MZ Pollak is an actress with experience in theater, film, and television, driven by a lifelong love of storytelling and the thrill of stepping into new characters. Inspired early on by her cousin, Oscar-nominated actor Ron Moody (Oliver!), she grew up captivated by performance and the magic of make-believe.

On stage, MZ starred as one of the leads in Marriage Go Round, a role originally performed by Julie Newmar. Bringing her own interpretation to such an iconic character was a defining moment in her theater career. She describes theater as “instantaneous high,” energized by the live audience, the immediacy of applause, and the joy of navigating a performance in real time.

In television, MZ appeared in the Everybody Loves Raymond episode “Cookies,” where a highlight was meeting Peter Boyle. Growing up terrified (and fascinated) by his iconic performance in Young Frankenstein, she was delighted to discover he was a “big teddy bear” in real life.

MZ has also worked in film, where she loves the behind-the-scenes process, the precision, and the fast pace that makes each day feel electric. Whether on stage, on set, or in front of the camera, she approaches acting with the same enthusiasm she had as a child bringing dolls to life—pure creativity, joy, and play.

For MZ, acting has never been a job; it’s fun, fulfilling, and exactly where she’s meant to be.
